The British Council is currently seeking a Manager Admin for the effective, efficient and compliant financial management of the TMTE, funded by the Government of Bangladesh, and managed and implemented by British Council. The post-holder will achieve agreed objectives and tasks to deliver TMTE successfully, meeting British Council corporate and client standards of compliance, and meeting the needs of all key stakeholders.


The role and responsibilities will include the following:

    • Manages and coordinates delivery of specified TMTE activities and undertake specified technical and support tasks to meet agreed targets
    • Manages and coordinates logistical arrangements with TMTE staff and consultants/international trainers/academic supervisors
    • Works with Facilities team to ensure procurement management compliance according to British Council policies
    • Works with Security team to ensure safety and security standard of British Council for academic and TMTE management staff
    • Acts as focal point for field consultants ensuring they have necessary support for implementation of TMTE activities
    • Manages the procurement and contracting of goods and services, and facilitates payment in accordance with British Council procedures
    • Ensure that good quality customer service is provided to the satisfaction of stakeholders and suppliers and is operating efficiently and effectively to the satisfaction of Team Leader and Senior Responsible Owner (SRO)
    • Maintains repository of relevant documents in accordance with British Council standards including human resource documents for TMTE staff
    • Provides support to Team Leader and Manager, Operations as directed

 And is required to have the following skills and experience:

    • Graduation in any discipline
    • At least three years’ experience in project management / coordination on development / reform projects
    • Worked in same or similar role in Bangladesh within the last three years
    • Proven ability to operate in a driven environment where attention to detail and meeting deadlines under pressure are important for success
    • Proven success in working with the Government of Bangladesh together with a general knowledge of ministerial processes and procedures
    • Proven track record in project management, coordination, administration, finance management and human resource management
