JOB TITLE

British Council Philippines is currently looking for Business Development Officer to join their Examinations team.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

The UK qualifications & examinations business in the Philippines comprises of a wide range of professional and academic qualifications, as well as English language examinations such as the British Council’s Aptis test, and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). IELTS is the largest product in the portfolio and is delivered in nearly 20 locations across all three Philippines island groups. The IELTS market is strongly driven by outbound mobility, with most of the candidates aspiring to work, live or study overseas. A large B2B2C network of partners endorse around 30% of the overall candidate volume. Aptis is the second largest product seeing a steady growth through key corporate accounts. Professional and academic examinations are also growing owing to with increased demand for globally-recognised qualifications.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

You will support the Business Development team in the course of managing relationships with existing external partners and developing new partnership opportunities, in line with the growth strategy of the exams business in the Philippines. The role will also assist in the implementation of strategies geared towards building new markets for exams products in the Philippines, positioning the British Council and the UK as a thought leader in English language assessment.


WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT


 You can take pride in the fact that you will be assisting the BD team management in strategic decision-making by providing valuable assistance in market research and planning, as well as delivery of value – adding services to partners and test – takers in coordination with Marketing. You will be given the opportunity to work closely with a network of partners in the Exams business. In the Philippines, the pool of partners is comprised of review centres, education consultancies, recruitment firms, and academic institutions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will have at least undergraduate university degree with C1 in English (speaking and writing). You will have experience in client relations or stakeholder management. You will have good organizational and administrative skills.
