Locally appointed Grade G/ fixed term contract - 2 years (cover for maternity leave)/ location Bucharest/Applicants must have a pre-existing right to work in EU.
British Council Romania is recruiting a Project Manager (Schools and Society).

Purpose of job:The overall purpose of this post is to lead on business development, planning and delivery of the British Council’s Schools and Society work in Romania.The post holder will ensure there is a strong strategic focus to all our Schools and Society work, ensure key audiences are engaged through high profile events, traditional and social media, and extend the strong bilateral and regional relationship in the area of Schools and Society to underpin and support our work in other areas.The post holder will build and maintain relationships with influential institutions, cultural organisations, foundations and corporate partners.A high priority for the post is to win new partnership funding in order to increase the scale and long term, systemic impact of the British Council’s schools and society work.A further priority is to oversee the successful delivery of partner funded programmes, to meet agreed objectives and in line with the British Council and our partners’ expectations and standards.

Main responsibilities of the role:
Develop and maintain a strong strategic approach to the Schools and Society programme
Maintain and develop close understanding of the external Schools / Civil Society environment in Romania and the UK, in order to identify opportunities for partnerships and programmes. 
Develop partnerships and project ideas Projects Management Contribute to multilateral programme development Deliver high quality communications which ensure a high impact of our work in Schools and Society
