ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM


China is one of British Council’s largest exams operations, delivering extensive international exams to individuals, institutions, schools and corporate clients in mainland China. By providing access to highly valued UK qualifications, with the reassurance of integrity, we build on the UK’s reputation for world-class educational standards. Core tests we administer include IELTS, Aptis, and a wide range of academic and professional qualifications (Distribution Exams stream). The Distribution Exams stream in China encompasses school exams, professional exams, and university exams and is a critical part of our exams business.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY


You will support China Exams Operational Support team in providing accurate and timely guidance and support in any aspect linked with Exams Venue Staff Payroll, Financial Control and Compliance Framework (FCCF), and local statutory accounting requirements.


WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT


You will provide sufficient support to China Exams Operational Team to achieve high level accuracy in delivering exams venue staff payroll, conducting operational transactions, meeting FCCF standards and providing finance services of excellence to both internal and external customers.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To qualify for this role, you will need:

1. Language requirement: English B2 (IELTS 5.5, Aptis or equivalent) & Chinese C1 (HSK 5 or equivalent);

2. Bachelor degree;

3. Minimum of 1 year working experience in business operations;

4. Ability to work under pressure. Good time management and data management;

5. Ability to work in virtual teams;

Experience working in payroll process, month end accruals, data management systems and budget management is highly preferred;

Experience working with SAP or equivalence and/or Working experience with Exams business or product.
