ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM 

The British Council was first established in Vietnam in 1993. We have 163 staff located in two cities: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

British Council Hanoi is perceived as a premium brand, with a reputation for delivering high quality English classes to over 2,500 young learners, teenagers and adults per term with a 50/15/35% split across the student profile respectively.  Vietnamese students are enthusiastic, polite and well-disciplined. The Centres are well resourced. Coordinators are usually timetabled for a number of classes of their own core products but are mostly kept down hours for duty and cover responsibilities.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY
Your main responsibilities include:
· To support Academic Manager Adults in providing extra value for students.
· To contribute to Adult Courses Training for teachers at the British Council, Hanoi.
· To provide support to teachers when planning lessons.
· To support the Academic Manager Adults in the day-to-day running of Adult courses in Hanoi.
· To assist Head of Adults Vietnam with product development and implementation of regional Adults products.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for candidates who hold an Undergraduate university degree, and who are Cambridge DELTA or Trinity Dip TESOL or PGCE qualified.

 

You should bring at least 5 years post-certificate i.e. CELTA/Trinity cert TESOL experience in teaching Adults General English, including beginners (1600+ hours). You should have experience of teaching myClass, IELTS Preparation courses and Young Learners (600+ hours). In addition, you should be experienced in course coordination and/or line management of teachers
