This is an opportunity for a management role with the British Council in Tbilisi. We are looking for a teacher co-ordinator to lead our teacher development at the prestigious European School in Tbilisi.
 
Details
This is an opportunity for an ambitious and experienced teacher to secure a contract in a management position. The role is to lead our new partnership with the European School in Tbilisi. Working very closely with the Teaching Centre Manager and Academic Manager, you will be the lead teacher responsible for teacher and programme development for the small team of teachers teaching English in the Georgian section of the European School.

Prospective applicants must have an initial qualification of CELTA, Trinity TESOL (or other recognised EFL qualification with significant teaching practice) plus two years’ post certificate teaching experience. The British Council recruits teachers of all nationalities but your English must be at C2 level (8/9 at IELTS). 

The successful applicant will work from Monday to Friday in standard office hours. There are 36 weeks’ teaching a year. In non-teaching periods you will lead on teacher training and materials development. 

This post is in place to support the ambitious teacher development programme we have for the teachers. Working closely with the Teaching Centre Management team, you will deliver teacher training sessions, acting as a line manager and mentor to the teachers. You will also work on improving the course programme and materials. You will be scheduled for some teaching per week though much of your time will be spent on non-teaching activities.

For teachers who have an initial teaching qualification the monthly salary is 2,370 GEL. For those with DELTA it is 2,454 GEL. All figures are before tax.

You will also receive a contribution to local health insurance and 35 days’ paid leave per annum.

Process

1. The deadline for completed applications is Sunday 10th December. 
2. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in early December 2017.
3. Post-interview, candidates may be invited to conduct a trial lesson or to prepare a full lesson plan.
