Pay Band: Core Teacher / No. of Positions: 1 / Duration: Two years fixed term contract / Location: Delhi / Applicants must have the legal right to work in India / Closing Date: 15 December 2019 ( 23:59 UK time)
Purpose of job:

To promote and deliver quality teaching and effective learning of English
To support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission

Context and environment:

The South Asia region is of high priority for the UK and includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Iran (non-represented) and Nepal.

The Opportunity:
  • Should have high proficiency in English i.e. full mastery of English across all 4 skills equivalents to CEFR C1
  • Must have an experience of overall 1500 hours of teaching Young Learners (most of this should be in the Early Years group) in a professional institution such as a school or a language centre
  • Should have one of the following - 
    1. Montessori Diploma in Early Years
    2. Minimum 600 hours experience of teaching Early Years in situations where they have received supervision and professional development by an EY professional
    3. Any other assessed qualification for Early Years
  • Young learners aged 2 to 6 (400+ hours)
  • Undergraduate/University degree
  • TEFL-I qualification (CELTA/Trinity) 
  • Cambridge DELTA/Trinity Diploma
  • PGCE in Primary/Secondary or equivalent
  • Young learners aged 8 to 10 (400+ hours)
  • Young learners aged 11 to 13 (800+ hours)
  • Young learners aged 14 to 17 (400+ hours)
