Marketing at the British Council is a strategic function which drives awareness, understanding and engagement with us across our diverse audiences. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

 

The overall purpose of this role is to develop marketing and promotional activities for British Council’s International English Assessment conference held in Yokohama, Tokyo in December 2019. This includes organisation and management of all logistical and operational arrangements.

 

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

 

British Council examinations business is of strategic importance to the British Council, and vital to the organisation’s ongoing ability to deliver its charitable objectives. The Examinations business is very significant in scale, operating across more than 100 countries, delivering 4.3m+ exams annually into more than 800 locations. We co-own and deliver the world’s leading high stakes English language test (IELTS), work with over 150 examination boards / awarding boards to provide secure and trusted services enabling delivery of their qualifications globally, and design and deliver our own suite of English language tests often working with ministries of education across the world. In East Asia, we run exams operations in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand and Burma.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

To be able to qualify for this position, you will need to be a Degree Holder. It is essential to have minimum two years’ experience of leading an events management function within a large and complex understanding. You need deep understanding of event management strategy, planning and delivery and demonstrable experience in managing and mitigating significant event management risks and issues.
