The British Council Pakistan is recruiting for Marketing Executive.
Location is flexible - can be based in Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The overall purpose of this role is to support the Marketing Manager in the execution of the marketing plans for Pakistan’s IES, English and Library businesses. We are looking for Marketing Executive working together with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Manager to assist in the implementation of marketing campaigns and add value to marketing campaign performances by suggesting ideas for process improvement.

 

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

The British Council is the UK’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We have been in Pakistan for over seventy years, and during that time we have developed deep and lasting relationships with individuals and organizations. We have re-opened Libraries as convening spaces, content hubs and information services that support our wider strategy in Pakistan. Initially, we have opened doors of our libraries in Karachi and Lahore, but a key component of this is building outreach services to Tier 2 cities and supporting the work of the SBUs as part of our strategy of “Moving Beyond Walls”.  

We have three key areas of work – English, and Exams, the Arts and Education and Society, through which we engage with leaders, policy makers, influencers and opinion formers, from senior politicians through to teachers and youth leaders.  In Pakistan we operate at scale supporting 500,000 exams a year, working with over 150,000 teachers and all Higher Education Institutions. We have ambitious plans for Arts, further work in English – especially in Sindh and KP building on our success in Punjab.      

Key features of our activity over the coming years will include: the delivery of English language learning opportunities across the public and private sectors; world-class teacher education and educational policy for a; collaborative research projects in higher education; schools partnerships; personal development through digital information services and UK qualifications; platforms for arts and cultural exchange and technology solutions to give access to all our products and services on the widest and most cost-effective basis.

We lead the development of our brand and use our expertise to tell inspiring stories to enhance our global reputation, build lifelong relationships, engage our staff and prove the impact of what we do.

Specific Accountabilities
· Assist the Marketing Manager with the maintenance of daily marketing operations and administration
Support Marketing manager in the development of market plans
· Support to update/renew digital content regularly on the corporate site and on social media channels)
· Provide support on the website, other digital platform routine update, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders
· Under supervision and guideline, gather the required market information and relevant data on the target audiences, key competitors and market
· Ensure all the quality review of online/offline communication tools from external agencies are received
· Collect and collate data on the performance of communication activities and campaigns
· Assist with daily, weekly and monthly data collection based on marketing team requirement
· Systematic filing and archiving of marketing relevant documents
· Communication with external/internal contacts for logistics arrangement
· Deal with internal/external contacts and supply them with promotional materials when needed
OTHER IMPORTANT FEATURES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Occasionally, the post holder may have to work during unsocial hours.
