About the Centre

The Teaching Centre in Kandy has up to 1200 students registered for regular public courses per term. Over two thirds of these are Young Learners aged 6-17, whilst the majority of our Adult students are under the age of 25. Courses are for the most part book–based General English courses although adults can register for spoken English and exam preparation (IELTS) courses. Student numbers of Young Learners aged 6-15 remain stable throughout the year, with re-registration rates at about 90%. Parents value the communicative methodology and the quality of the teaching provided. Adult and Upper Secondary (16-17) student numbers increase significantly between October and March, when a lot of teenagers are forced to take a break after their O and A-level exams, and then drop off again between April and September.
