Working with policymakers, government ministers, teachers and learners across the world we help millions of people to access English by supporting the teaching and learning of English in public education systems, and through self-access materials and courses. We teach learners and teachers of English face-to-face in dedicated teaching centres and online through a range of courses. Every year three million people take international exams with help from the British Council, gaining qualifications that can open doors at leading academic institutions and improve employment prospects.



The Role Purpose:
To deliver quality teaching and ensure the effective learning of English.
To support the development and delivery of high-quality Adults courses which meet and exceed the expectations of students and enhance the British Council’s reputation as a leading provider of adult courses in Morocco.
To support the wider aims of British Council and its cultural relations mission


Essential Requirements:

Proficient user of English across all 4 skills equivalent to user (CEFR C1) with IELTS Band 8 in each of 4 sections of the general module.
Up-to-date proof of language proficiency may be requested as part of the applications process

First degree or equivalent

Cambridge DELTA/Trinity Diploma in TESOL (or other certificate level qualification that meets our requirements) OR

Candidates who are currently pursuing their Diploma qualification and can demonstrate that they can attain their Diploma within nine months of joining the role


Candidates who are able to start the Distance Delta integrated programme immediately upon employment and complete it within the standard nine-month period.

2 years’ teaching experience post-CELTA or equivalent initial teaching qualification.

Experience in teaching all age groups:
Adults General English 18+ (800+ hours)
Young learners aged 6 to 10 (200+ hours)
Young learners aged 11 to 13 (200+ hours)
Young learners aged 14 to 17 (200+ hours)

Demonstrable interest in coordinating and/or developing courses for adults.         


Desirable Requirements:
Highly proficient user of English (CEFR C2/IELTS Band 9)

PGCE in any age group or subject.

Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate (TYLEC)

Cambridge CELTYL/YL Extension or other recognised YL teaching qualification.

International House certificate in ELT management (or similar)

Teaching experience in EAP, ESP or Soft Skills

Experience as an e-moderator or otherwise delivering courses through digital platforms.

Previous experience as a YL or Adults Co-ordinator, Senior Teacher or similar role.

Teaching experience at Early Years (3-5 years)
