ABOUT THE JOB
The Regional Safety and Security Advisor will advise and assure the safe and secure operations of the British Council’s global operations through the implementation of a risk-based approach to managing security, safety and continuity. This role covers the Americas Region. 

WHAT SHOULD YOU HAVE
You should have:
  • Proven experience of working in a security and safety risk management role.
  • Strong Health and Safety background. 
  • Experience of complex organisational security issues and can demonstrate working in a challenging environment.
  • Working in project teams.
  • Developing security/safety strategies for projects.
  • Educated to degree level, HNC or equivalent technical qualifications and experience.
  • Ability to operate in Spanish and English (both written and spoken) at a business level. Non-native speakers of English should demonstrate level C1/6.5 IELTS.

The Safety, Security and Continuity team is part of the wider Risk team. Risk falls within the Internal Audit & Risk directorate which is part of COO function.   The Internal Audit & Risk function is responsible for developing the British Council’s risk management strategy and ensures the embedding of risk management in all organisational activities.
