The British Council is the world’s leading cultural relations organisation and creates opportunities for people in the UK and worldwide to understand each other, to work together and learn from one another. We see this as crucial to building secure, more prosperous and sustainable futures for us all. We build trust and understanding between different countries and cultures and develop strong international links that are of benefit to people in Britain and the rest of the world.

British Council Slovakia is looking to recruit an experienced and committed teacher for adult and young learner courses starting in April 2019. The post will be for 24 contracted teaching hours weekly and is available initially for 2 years.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of teaching a range of adult and young learner general courses. There will also be opportunities to teach examination preparation (predominantly IELTS) and business English. Bratislava is a smaller centre and the post offers an excellent opportunity to gain a wide variety of further teaching experience. You will also have the opportunity to work with other centres in the cluster (Prague and Budapest) to standardise lesson planning and delivery as we move towards the implementation of new British Council products.

Minimum qualifications are an undergraduate degree and a CELTA or equivalent ELT qualification. Applicants should have at least two years of post-certification teaching experience. Applicants who do not have the minimum, or essential, qualifications and experience will not be shortlisted.

Starting date:  1 April, 2019
Closing date for applications: 23:59 UK time 17 February, 2019
