Role Purpose

The British Council is looking for a Business development Manager  Exams to work in the new Teaching Centre in Algiers.

As the Business Development Manager Exams you will have to
To improve the Examinations market position and achieve financial growth. Define long-term organisational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business contracts and develop and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. Work with the internal team, marketing colleagues, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue.

You will To achieve this you will find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future. Manage existing clients and ensure continued satisfaction and positive attitudes.

To manage British Council Examinations Services operations in order to meet country strategic objectives and achieve maximum impact with our target audiences in Algeria This role has responsibility for the effective management of the Exams team, Exam operations and exams finance in order to meet business targets, and to ensure Exams operations meet awarding body and British Council standards. The role also contributes to marketing, business development and the integration of Exams activity into the wider work of the British Council.

You will report to the country Exams Manager Algeria.


The British Council has received substantial interest from the general public along with the state and corporate sectors for English language training and Exams. You will therefore be required to manage of 4 and administers over 3000 exams per year in Algiers.


You will be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative as well as being part of the team in Algeria and a wider regional team across the Middle East and North Africa. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to plan your work and achieve results quickly and efficiently.


You will also have good   IT skills and be a willing team-worker. You will speak and write well in French and English, and preferably in Arabic too.


This post will suit someone with business development experience and or a relevant university qualification.
