ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

The British Council has had a presence in China since 1943, and since 1979 we have been operating as the Culture and Education Section of the British Embassy and Consulate-Generals in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing. We also opened our first English centre in Mainland China in September 2017, based in Nanjing. This role will be based in Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing respectively and report to the local Computer-delivered IELTS Operations Manager.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

This role is to execute the Computer-delivered IETLS test administration work which involves complete pre-test administration tasks of each session as per the global standard of administration and conduct speaking test stock preparation of each session. You will work as the Computer-delivered IELTS test supervisor, acting as the first contact point for test day to ensure the smooth delivery of the test and oversee the security of test materials to maintain the integrity of IELTS and the British Council at all times. You will also be tasked in other duties such as conducting online survey to Computer-delivered IELTS candidates on a weekly basis – distributing, collecting and analysing survey results, and submitting report on a monthly basis to the Marketing team and Monitor.

 

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

You can take pride to act as the first contact point for test day to ensure the smooth delivery of the test. You will be able to gain thorough operational knowledge of Computer-delivered IELTS and get involved in the design of local end-to-end process. It is also interesting to interact with all IELTS function teams through covering a large variety of duties of different strands.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To qualify for this role, you will require language proficiency in English B2 (Aptis, IELTS6.5 or equivalent), Chinese C1 (HSK 5 or equivalent) and will be preferable if you possessed a degree in any fields. It will also be required for you to have experience of working on exams administration that requires high sense of security, attention to details and will be advantageous if you have experience in working as a test day supervisor.
