ABOUT YOUR BEHAVIOURS OR COMPETENCIES
As we all know, performing successfully in a post requires more than a suitable academic and working background; therefore, we are looking for you to demonstrate the behaviours that are key to our organisation, such as: Making it happen, Working together, Being accountable, Shaping the future, Connecting with others, Creating shared purpose.

WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY

Because you will be joining an international organisation that is looking to promote educational opportunities and cultural relations of the United Kingdom, and you will also have the opportunity work for a team that operates in over 114 countries globally.

The Americas comprises a diverse range of 13 countries, of which eight are ODA-eligible. Major society issues in Colombia, Brazil, USA and Mexico are around inequalities and citizenship. Access to and quality education are critical, linked with internationalisation and research collaboration, in a globalized economy. The main funding bodies are responding to this situation.

In the Americas, we help young people reach their potential through engaging with the UK´s cultural resources, English, Education and the Arts. We will support them to be even more resilient, entrepreneurial and optimistic by giving them the skills they need and providing opportunities to develop an international outlook.

The British Council in the USA is, along with Brazil, Mexico and Colombia one of the four largest operations in the Americas region and a priority country in terms of the bilateral relationship. We work closely with the small team in Canada where a North America offer is appropriate and with other countries in the region where a multilateral program is likely to be effective.
